Belfast brings ‘X’ appeal to festive season

There will definitely be some ‘X’ appeal about this year’s Christmas celebrations in Belfast, when chart toppers, Liberty X, join the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tom Ekin, to switch on the city’s Christmas lights next Tuesday.

The Lord Mayor formally announced details of this year’s Christmas programme as this year’s Christmas tree was manoeuvred into position outside the City Hall on Tuesday morning. For the first time, this year’s tree - a 27-year old, 43-feet tall silver fir - is coming from the city’s very own Botanic Gardens.

Headlining this year’s concert in celebration of this year’s tree lighting ceremony, Liberty X will be performing tracks from their new album, ‘Being Somebody’, which was released at the beginning of the month.

Guest compère for the evening will be top Radio One DJ, and local boy, Colin Murray while keeping the crowd entertained will be local dance group, Tribal Dance, and up and coming boy band, Pop Up.
