Police launch murder inquiry in Larne

Police have launched a murder inquiry after the body of a 37-year-old woman was found in Larne.

Officers were called to a house at Recreation Road at around 10.30am on Friday where they discovered the body, which is understood to have had chest wounds.

Detectives have appealed for the driver of a blue Vauxhall Corsa with the registration UCZ 1626 to get in touch as well as an anonymous male caller who phoned the ambulance service to contact them with regard to the find.

Four Courthouses To Close
Justice Minister David Ford has confirmed the closure of four court Hearing Centres. on the future of five court Hearing Centres. Following a consultation exercise the Minister has decided to close the Hearing Centres at Bangor, Larne, Limavady and Magherafelt and retain the Hearing Centre in Strabane.

Larne Lough Search Resumes
The hunt continues today - against fading hopes - after a 29-year-old man went missing in Larne Lough at the weekend. Larne's Graeme Nixon has not been seen since his boat capsized on Mill Bay on Saturday afternoon. Mr Nixon was in a rowing boat, which overturned in Mill Bay while he was picking whelks.

Body found in Ballyboley forest
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a man's body in Ballyboley Forest near Larne. It is understood that police officers were conducting a search of the forest, which is between Larne and Ballymena, when the discovery was made. A police spokesperson said that no further details were available.

Larne To receive £150,000 Regeneration Funding
£150,000 is being injected into the regeneration of Larne town centre in County Antrim. Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland made the announcement. He said: "This money will give Larne Town centre a real boost. When I visited the town centre earlier this year I was greatly impressed by the work completed in previous regeneration schemes.
