ICT development supported by Invest NI

Invest Northern Ireland’s Southern Local Office has recently offered significant selective financial assistance to help two local firms develop their marketing potential and enhance their management capability.

Both companies were offered assistance of around £40,000 and are just two examples of the many local businesses operating within Northern Ireland’s ICT sector that Invest NI is currently helping to develop.

Portadown-based firm, InTouch Network Solutions, which was set up in 1996, provides copper and fibre optic networks for the telecommunications and IT industries. The company intends to use the assistance offered to retain its position as the leading provider of fibre optic networks in Ireland.

Michael Pentland, Director of In Touch Network Solutions, said: “Our strength lies in our ability to fully understand the needs of our clients and offer innovative solutions to their communication network problems. The support and advice we have received from Invest NI has allowed us to improve our overall marketing strategy and strengthen our company as a whole.”

Another local firm Micro Computer Solutions (MCS) has also received extensive support from Invest NI. A leading developer of specialist IT software the company is making significant in-roads into the RoI and GB market place and is using the support offered by Invest NI to enhance its current marketing strategy and bolster its management team.

Arther Anderson, General Manager of MCS, said: “At MCS we put the customer at the heart of our business. With the marketing support and guidance we have received from Invest NI we have managed to extend our client base and establish ourselves in new and more profitable markets.”

Mark Bleakney, Regional Manager of Invest NI’s southern local office, said: “We have been working with both companies and many others within the ICT sector for a number of years. By offering them a diverse range of support we are nurturing local entrepreneurial talent and innovation that will further strengthen the regional economy.”
