Taxi driver stabbed in the face

Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was stabbed in the face in Co Armagh.

The incident occurred at Parkmore Avenue in Lurgan as the driver called to collect a fare at around 9.45pm.

As he was driving towards Craigavon the passenger in the back seat pulled a knife and stabbed him before jumping from the taxi and running off.

The victim was immediately taken to hospital where he is still being treated.
