Man stabbed in Newtownabbey

A man has been stabbed in the stomach after being attacked by a group of men in Co Antrim early this morning.

The victim was walking along Old Mill Drive in Newtownabbey when the group of men approached him.

Following a struggle, the man was stabbed in the stomach and arms. He was later treated in hospital for his injuries.

Elsewhere, a taxi driver and his eight-year-old daughter have escaped injury following an attack in Londonderry last night.

Around 15 girls and boys, some carrying sticks and batons, threw stones at the man’s vehicle in Irish Street in the Waterside area of the city on Monday night.

Police have appealed for anyone with information on either incident to contact them.

Man stabbed in Co Tyrone assault
A man was stabbed and three others injured following an assault in Co Tyrone at the weekend. It is believed that up to eight people tracked the group of three men and one woman as they left a bar in William Street, Dungannon, at around 1.20am on Sunday morning. The group, who were all from Coalisland, were then attacked in Irish Street.

Man Stabbed In West Belfast
A man has been injured in a stabbing attack in west Belfast. The assault happened in the Springfield Avenue area just before 9.20pm on Tuesday, 25 October. The victim, aged in his 30s, sustained a stab wound to his back after being attacked by a number of men. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.

Four Men Arrested Over Explosive Device In West Belfast Released
Four men arrested in connection with an explosive device in west Belfast last year have been released from custody. The device was found in the Pantridge Road area on 30 October. Three men arrested under the Terrorism Act have been released unconditionally.

Man Shot In Legs In Co Armagh
A man has been shot in both legs in Co Armagh. A group of men forced their way into a house in the Meadowbank area of Craigavon and dragged the victim outside and shot him in both legs. The incident happened on Thursday night. The 26-year-old man has is being treated in hospital. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
