Healy boost for NI ahead of Austria game
Northern Ireland manager Lawrie Sanchez looks set to recall striker David Healy to his 11-man line up for this Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier against Austria at Windsor Park.
The Preston North End hitman missed Saturday’s 0-0 with Azerbaijan because of suspension following his sending off against Wales in Cardiff last month.
Sanchez will also have Steve Jones, Gary Hamilton, George McCartney and Paul McVeigh back - after injury ruled them all out of Saturday’s game in Baku.
Sunderland’s McCartney will be most likely to start the game at fullback after Chris Baird was carried off injured only minutes into the Azerbaijan game.
Northern Ireland need nothing less then three points against the Austrians if they are to stay in contention for a second place spot in Group 6.
