Pensioners held at knifepoint during robbery

Two pensioners have been left "severely shaken" after they were robbed at knifepoint at a house in west Belfast on Sunday.

The women, both in their 70s, were in the house at Glencolin Way when two robbers, posing as policemen, talked their way into the property at about 8.30pm.

The men, aged between 18 and 25, then forced the women into the living room subjecting them to verbal abuse and threats for around 20 minutes. They fled with money clearly marked for the Northern Ireland Hospice as well as five Royal Doulton figurines.

Both women were left severely shaken but uninjured in the incident.

Police said the men were wearing dark hooded tops with their faces covered and have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
