Enjoying Belfast’s scenery is ‘A Walk In The Park’
Anyone seeking to keep fit while enjoying some of Belfast’s most beautiful scenery will literally find it ‘A Walk In The Park’ as Belfast City Council launches a new guide to some of the most scenic walks in the city.
The ‘A Walk In The Park’ guide is a 40-page illustrated booklet on 18 walks through parks and open spaces around Belfast, including Belfast Castle, the Lagan Valley, Bog Meadows, the Waterworks, Victoria Park and Bloomfield Walkway – along with the Highway-to-Health walk through the city centre.
Each trail is accompanied by information on its length, the difficulty of the terrain, how to get there by car or public transport and a map as well as interesting features along the way which are marked and described.
Author of the new guide Dr Robert Scott said: “It is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all possible walks around the city, but a selection of the best ones, giving as flavour of some of the walking opportunities which exist in our parks and elsewhere in Belfast."
‘A Walk In The Park’ is available free of charge from Belfast City Council venues, libraries and tourist outlets. Further details are available from the Council’s Countryside Officer at Malone House, on 028 9066 2259.
