Firefighters combat blaze in north Belfast
Dozens of firefighters had to be called out this morning to deal with a major fire at a derelict building in north Belfast.
The blaze began at about 5am on Tuesday at the Old Blue Supporters Club on the Crumlin Road with flames raging through the first floor level of the unoccupied building.
Eight engines and 57 firefighters were used to combat the blaze which was brought under control by around 7.30am, however high winds posed extra danger to fire crews while there was real concern that the old building might collapse.
Traffic was diverted away from the area but nearby roads have been reopened.
