Nightclub doorman in 'critical condition' following attack

Police are appealing for information after a nightclub doorman was left in a critical condition in hospital after being attacked by up to 10 men at the weekend.

The incident occurred at the Chimney Corner Hotel on the outskirts of Belfast at around 2.30am on Sunday.

The injured man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was attacked by the men around one hour after a disco had finished.

Police described the incident as "horrendous" and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them, particularly taxi drivers and people who were perhaps waiting for a lift at the time.

Police are appealing for information after a man was repeatedly stabbed in the back during an attack in Co Antrim last night. The 28-year-old man, who is in a critical condition in hospital, was walking along the Cloyfin Road, between Coleraine and Bushmills, when three men leapt from a passing car and proceeded to beat him with iron bars.

Man recovering in hospital following paramilitary-style attack
A 23-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg in a paramilitary-style attack in Co Down. The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday on the Abbotts Road in Newtownards. Police said the victim had tried to run away when he saw four men pull up alongside him in a red Ford Escort car.

Man Shot In Both Legs In West Belfast
A man has been shot in both legs in west Belfast. The victim was found in an alleyway in the Iris Court area at around 8.40pm on Wednesday, 29 November. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Arson Attack At West Belfast School
Police are appealing for information following an arson attack at a school in the Glen Road area of Belfast on Monday. Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said: "At approximately 9.45pm Police received a report that three portacabins had been entered and set on fire. As a result of the fire the portacabins were completely destroyed.
