Pharmacy robbed in Ballymena

Detectives in Ballymena are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in the Dunclug area of the town on Thursday evening.

Shortly after 5.30pm, two masked men armed with knives entered the shop and threatened staff, before making off with a quantity of prescription drugs.

The first thief is described as being 5’11” tall, of thin build, and was wearing a grey hooded top and a light coloured scarf. He was also wearing dark coloured Adidas trousers which had white stripes at the bottom of each leg, which can be seen clearly from the back.

The second thief was described as being between 5’8”and 5’9” tall, of thin build and wearing a navy coloured hooded top with a red or maroon coloured logo on the front and on the arm. He was also wearing navy coloured tracksuit bottoms and grey coloured trainers.

Amongst the drugs stolen were a large quantity of Diazepam, Digoxin and Dehydracodeine tablets, which are described as "potentially extremely harmful" if used without medical supervision

Armed robbery in County Tyrone
Detectives in County Tyrone have appealed for information following an armed robbery yesterday evening. The incident happened at around 10pm, when two masked men, who were armed with a knife and a screwdriver, entered a premises in Castlefields, Dungannon and assaulted a member of staff with a spanner.

Police in Downpatrick are appealing for information after an armed robbery yesterday evening. Just before 8.30pm, two men, one armed with a knife, approached a fast food van on the Dundrum Road in Newcastle. The men threatened staff and demanded that they hand over a sum of cash.

Man Attacked And Robbed In L'Derry
A man has been attacked and robbed in Co L'Derry. The assault happened in the Rossville Street area in the early hours of Sunday morning, 24 July. Two men attacked the victim and stole a sum of cash from him. The man was not seriously injured, however police are appealing for information.

Man Assaulted In Ballyclare
A man has been attacked by another male for refusing to give him money in Ballyclare. The pair were involved in an altercation in the Mill Road area on Monday. The victim was hit on the head and suffered swelling to the side of his face. The man who assaulted him is described as tall, with short black hair and glasses.

Knife-wielding youths rob shop in Whitehead
A woman was held at knifepoint during the robbery of a shop in Whitehead last night. At around 9pm last night two armed youths entered the Kings Road shop and demanded money. During the incident, one of the robbers grabbed the shop owner's elderly mother and held a knife to her throat.
