Man accused of sword attack released on bail
A man accused of attempting to murder two men in Newry with a samurai sword has been released on bail.
Mark McNulty, 22, of Canal Street in Newry, was accused of stabbing the two men with a sword, as well as threatening to kill a third man, during the alleged incident in the Co Down city last month.
The court heard how the accused was arrested after police received reports that a man was attacking people in the Monaghan Street area with a sword.
Mr McNulty replied "no comment" when the charges were put to him following a court appearance in Armagh last month.

Richard Hartin, aged 33, from St John's Place, Larne is accused of swinging the weapon - which he bought on internet auction site eBay - at a police officer's head during disturbances in Larne last February.

Man Attacked By Armed Gang In North Belfast
A man has been attacked by a gang of armed men at a house in north Belfast. The assault happened in the Oakley Street area in the early hours of Wednesday, 14 February. The victim was punched in the head and a front window of the property was also smashed. One man was armed with a sword and the other men had bats and bars.

Severed Hand Reattached As Accused Faces Court
A 33-year-old man is due to appear in court today charged in connection with a sword attack at a pub in north Dublin in which a man's hand was severed. The court date comes on the same day as news that surgeons successfully reattached the victim's hand - cut off in the samurai sword attack.

A civilian PSNI employee has appeared before Ballymena Magistrates Court in Co Antrim today accused of murdering his wife. The court heard that when charged yesterday 46-year-old Adrian Baird of Loughloughlan Road in Broughshane said that he "did not mean to kill his wife".
