Landmark Belfast building vandalised

Police are appealing for information after a landmark building in Belfast was vandalised early this morning.

The Scottish Provident building beside Belfast City Hall was broken into between 2am and 5am on Friday.

A number of the buildings 24 office units were damaged during the incident however nothing is believed to have been stolen.

Police have asked for any witnesses to come forward.

Former YMCA building gets £1.4m makeover
A landmark building at Mountpottinger in east Belfast has been given a new life thanks to a £1.4 million transformation. Social Development Minister David Hanson today visited the former YMCA building on the Albertbridge Road to see at first hand the result of significant public and private sector investment at work.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Primary School Building Site Vandalised
Police have issued a safety warning after a primary school building site was vandalised in Dromore. The site is located on the Mossvale Road. Police also received reports that youths were on scaffolding. Inspector Leslie Badger posted on PSNI Banbridge Facebook: "Building sites are not playgrounds.

Support For NI Apprenticeships Welcomed
The Stormont Employment and Learning Minister, Dr Stephen Farry, has welcomed Schrader Electronics' ongoing support for Apprenticeships, at an Apprentice Team Building Event. The Minister visited 11 apprentices and their line managers taking part in a team building event to improve personal effectiveness skills at the Belfast Activity Centre.

Cars vandalised in County Down
Detectives in North Down have appealed for information after a number of vehicles were damaged in the early hours of this morning. At around 12.30am, police received reports of a number of cars being vandalised in the Church Street area of Bangor.
