Police appeal for witness into fatal car accident
Police are appealing for a woman who stopped at the scene of a car accident which claimed the lives of three teenagers last Friday to contact them.
Michael McManus, 19, Caomh McCarthy, 19, and Stephen Haughey, 17, died when the Peugeot 307 they were travelling in collided with a lorry on the Belfast Road near Newry, shortly after midnight.
Police say they believe the woman was a witness to events after the collision, and have asked her to come forward and speak to the senior officer involved with the investigation.
All three victims died at the scene of the accident whilst the driver of the lorry escaped injury but was treated for severe shock.
Newry and Armagh Ulster Unionist Assembly member Danny Kennedy expressed his sympathy to the families of the men killed and described the tragedy as "heartbreaking".
