Family treated for shock following break-in

A couple and their three teenage sons have been treated for shock after masked men broke into their Co Londonderry home last night.

The incident occurred at the family's home in Main Street, Castledawson, at around 11.30pm when the three men forced their way into the house and demanded money.

One of the men fired a stun gun at the father before plunging one of the sons into a bath of water. The whole of the family were then tied up and locked in the attic as the men fled in what is believed to be a car or van.

The father and son who were attacked have been treated for minor injuries while the remainder of the family were treated for severe shock.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Magherafelt on 028 7963 3701 or Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
