More flooding predicted as heavy rain continues
The Met Office has warned local motorists that there is more heavy rainfall to come following reports of flooding in the Newtownards and Greater Belfast areas overnight.
Areas of north Belfast, Comber, Dunmurry and Poleglass saw localised flooding on Wednesday night as the tail end of Hurricane Bonnie continues to affect the Northern Ireland weather.
In Newtownards flooding was reported in North Street, the Comber Road and the Glen Estate, however a spokesperson for the Water Service described the problems as "small scale".
However, the Water Service and Roads Service said staff remained on standby in case of any further flooding caused by expected heavy rainfall being predicted by the Met Office on Thursday and on Friday morning.
