Teenage boy dies in road crash on A2

A 14-year-old boy has died following yesterday's serious road traffic accident on the main Belfast to Bangor dual carriageway.

It emerged that in all 12 people were involved in the accident which saw a four-wheel drive vehicle towing a speedboat, a people carrier and a Vauxhall Astra car collide on the A2 dual carriageway near Bangor just after 3pm on Tuesday.

Two women and five children were treated for minor injuries in the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of the accident and have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Two People Killed In Offaly Plane Crash Named
Two people killed in a plane crash in Co Offaly have been named as pilot Niall Bowditch and seven year old Kacper Kacprzak. Mr Bowditch was believed to be in his 40s, and from Staffordshire, England. It is thought Kacper was the son of a Polish national living in Dublin. The plane took off from Clonbullogue Airfield on Sunday, 13 May.

75-Year-Old Woman Killed In Bangor Carriageway Road Accident
A 75-year-old woman has died in a serious road accident on the A2 dual carriageway between Bangor and Holywood. The two car collision occurred at around 2.10pm on Monday 04 January, close to the Devils Elbow at Carney Hill. The woman was the driver of one of the cars.

Man dies in Co Down road accident
A man has died following a road accident in Co Down this morning. The accident occurred at around 6.30am on the A2 Belfast-Bangor dual carriageway near Holywood. It is understood that the driver lost control of his vehicle and it ploughed into a tree on the verge of the carriageway. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.

Man Dies In Road Crash Between Belfast And Bangor
A man has died in a road crash between Belfast and Bangor. The incident occurred at the junction of the Ballyrobert Road after 2am on Monday, 23 January. The A2 was closed however it has since re-opened. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

A2 Bangor Ring Road Resurfaced
Work on a £125,000 resurfacing scheme at the Bloomfield Road Roundabout on the A2 Bangor Ring Road, Co Down will start next week. The work, carried out by the Department for Regional Development's (DRD) Roads Service, will begin on Monday 4 October 2010 and is scheduled for completion in seven weeks.
