Weapons uncovered in west Belfast
Police uncovered a cache of weapons during the search of a cemetery in west Belfast yesterday.
Two handguns, shotgun cartridges and other items were discovered by officers in the grounds of the cemetery at Hannahstown Hill on Wednesday afternoon.
The area was immediately cordoned off as Army Technical Officers examined the items which were subsequently removed for further examination.

Number Of 'Suspicious Items' Removed From Milltown Cemetery
A number of "suspicious" items have been removed from Milltown Cemetery in Belfast. It is understood that police attended the cemetery in West Belfast following reports of a "number of suspicious items". Police confirmed that officers attended and have taken a number of items away for examination. Investigations are ongoing.

Man Arrested Over Weapons Find
A 52-year-old man is being questioned by police in connection with the discovery of a cache of weapons in west Belfast. Police recovered guns and ammunition, and what is believed to be pipe bomb making parts, during the search of a house on Forest Street on Saturday night.

East Belfast Security Alert 'Nothing Untoward'
A security alert that closed a busy road in east Belfast on Thursday evening has been declared as "nothing untoward". Residents on the Belmont Road were evacuated from their homes after a suspicious object was discovered under a vehicle at Strathearn School. It's understood to have been found under a teacher's car.

Cancer survival rates for patients in Northern Ireland has risen, according to a new report. The Northern Ireland Cancer Registry (NICR), which is part of Queens University School of Medicine, examined every cancer case in Northern Ireland between 1993 and 2004.

Two men beaten in sectarian attack
Police are treating an attack on two men in Ballymena last night as sectarian. Both men suffered broken bones and severe bruising after being set upon by a gang in Mount Street at around 9.45pm. Police subsequently arrested six men while a Ford transit van is being forensically examined following the incident.
