Security workers robbed at RVH
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after security firm workers were robbed at gunpoint in the grounds of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast on Tuesday.
The incident happened outside the new wing of the hospital at about 8.15am when two men, armed with a sawn off shotgun and a handgun, forced the workers to hand over two boxes and a bag containing a substantial sum of money.
The men then made off in a red or maroon English registered Rover car, which is believed to have crossed the Westlink and drove into Roden Street towards the Donegall Road.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or seen the men making off afterwards is asked to contact detectives at Grosvenor Road on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
