Belfast lottery winner comes forward

A Belfast woman who is undergoing treatment for cancer has come forward and claimed her £20.1 million National Lottery winnings.

Iris Jeffrey, 58, who bought the ticket on 14 July, only checked her ticket on Wednesday after hearing an appeal by lottery organisers Camelot.

Mrs Jeffrey said she planned to splash out on a new car for her husband and a washing machine for herself.

The mother-or-two, who is set to become a grandmother in a matter of weeks, also said she plans on taking a week's holiday in Blackpool.

Her winning numbers of 6, 27, 33, 38, 45, 47 saw her become the biggest single winner in the Lottery's 10-year history.
