Bank Of Ireland Boosts Young Enterprise NI With ESG Backing

Bank of Ireland has reinforced its commitment to fostering enterprise education in Northern Ireland by becoming the latest ESG Business Backer for Young Enterprise NI.

This partnership will see the bank collaborate closely with Young Enterprise NI to equip young people with essential workplace skills, contributing to a more promising future for the next generation.

As an ESG Business Backer, Bank of Ireland will actively participate in practical sessions with young people, offering valuable insights into starting and managing a business. A key focus will also be on developing a deeper understanding of sustainability and its growing importance within the business world.

Carol Fitzsimons MBE, CEO of Young Enterprise NI, the leading charity dedicated to empowering young people through hands-on business experiences, emphasised the significance of the collaboration. The charity's work encourages entrepreneurship and enhances crucial skills such as teamwork, communication, and financial literacy.

"Their investment allows us to enhance our programmes and create opportunities that inspire innovation and entrepreneurship. Together, we are ensuring that our future leaders are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the modern economy. As an advocate for social responsibility, Bank of Ireland is tangibly aligning its corporate values with community impact. By supporting Young Enterprise NI, the bank is not only contributing to immediate educational benefits but also investing in the long-term economic vitality of the region."

George Higginson, Managing Director Everyday Banking at Bank of Ireland, commented on the partnership: "Through our partnership with Young Enterprise NI we are working collectively to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and ensure they have access to the skills and knowledge they need as our leaders for the future. By making financial literacy accessible from early years, we can help young people build the confidence and knowledge they need to adopt good financial habits that help them now and into adulthood. We are delighted to renew our partnership with Young Enterprise Northern Ireland and to support the ambition that every young person has access to financial and enterprise education."
