BCC Unveils Spring Fest Events
A replica of the iconic 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' car will be a star attraction at this year's 'Spring Fest', Belfast City Council has announced.
The popular free family event is set to return to Barnett Demesne on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April 2025.
The festival will run from 1.30pm to 5.30pm on both days, transforming Malone House and Barnett Demesne into a lively centre for music, arts, and family-friendly activities, all inspired by the spring season.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of attractions, including a spring flower show, live music and entertainment, farmyard animals, and a selection of food and craft stalls. Launching the event at Barnett Demesne, the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Micky Murray, said: "Spring Fest is such a lovely seasonal treat for family and friends of all ages. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get together to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, with prize blooms, music, food and entertainment galore. I can’t wait to see lots of happy faces here in the stunning setting of Barnett Demesne at the end of the month!"
Attendees are advised that there will be no parking available at Malone House and Barnett Demesne during Spring Fest. However, a free park and ride service will operate from Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park. The first bus will depart Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park at 1pm, with the last bus leaving Barnett Demesne at 5.45pm.
Public transport options are also available, with the Translink service bus operating from Donegall Square East in the city centre. On Saturday, Metro Bus 8A or 8B will be running, and on Sunday, the Metro 8A will run every 30 minutes. Further information on bus services can be found on the Translink website at www.translink.co.uk.
Organisers have also stated that only assistance dogs will be permitted into the event.
