McKeever Hotel Group Acquires Armagh City Hotel

The McKeever Hotel Group has announced its acquisition of the Armagh City Hotel from its previous owners, Kieran McAnallan, Felix Mooney, Brian McCormack, and Ernie Fisher. The sum involved in the transaction has not been disclosed.

The Armagh City Hotel, a well-known establishment in the city centre, has been a fixture in the local community for 23 years and employs a team of 160 staff.

The hotel is particularly recognised for its large function suites, which can accommodate up to 1200 guests. Over the years, it has hosted numerous significant events, including celebrity concerts, sporting events, press conferences, and political gatherings.

Welcoming the Armagh City Hotel and its team to the McKeever Hotel Group, a delighted Eddie McKeever, Managing Director said:

Growth Plans Announced For McKeever Hotel Group
McKeever Hotel Group has revealed that it intends to grow its operations across its existing hotels in Northern Ireland and Donegal. The Antrim-based hospitality business aims to increase turnover to £60 million through the next three years, with further acquisitions and hotel management contracts included in the growth plan.

DOE Planning officials will seek the views of Derry City Council at a meeting on Tuesday 6 March 2012.

Despite the continuing recession and fears over this month's UK-wide cutbacks, coach operator, Airporter, has announced details of a new direct link between both Belfast airports and the Belfast Hilton Hotel and Waterfront Hall.

McKeever Hotels Acquires The Lodge Hotel
McKeever Hotels has acquired The Lodge Hotel, a family-owned hotel in Coleraine, for an undisclosed sum. The change of ownership aligns with the retirement of Ivor Boyd and Norma Wilkinson, who have successfully managed The Lodge Hotel for 30 years. They were joined in 2003 by their third partner, the late Brian Stockman.

Invest NI Boosts Hotel Finances
A local hotel group has been able to make considerable reductions in its annual costs - thanks to advice on improving investments from Invest Northern Ireland. An initiative from the development agency allowed Mooney Group Hotels to save £200k during the past year.
