Man Arrested In L'Derry Drug Investigation

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Organised Crime Branch have arrested a 42-year-old man following searches at two residential properties in L'Derry.

The searches were conducted on Monday, 24th March, at addresses in the Carn Manor and Glenabbey Road areas as part of an ongoing investigation into drug criminality within the city.

Detective Sergeant Moore stated that suspected drug-related paraphernalia was seized during the operations and will be subject to further forensic examination.

The arrested man is being held in custody and is suspected of offences including being concerned in the supply of class B drugs, conspiracy to supply class B controlled drugs, and possession of class C drugs.

Detective Sergeant Moore emphasised the PSNI's commitment to tackling drug-related issues, which he noted often lead to debt, addiction, and fatalities within communities.

He urged the public to assist the police in breaking the cycle of drug crime, appealing to anyone with information about illegal drug use or supply to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
