Police continue to question woman over murder
Police are continuing to question a woman in connection with the murder of a man on the outskirts of north Belfast last week.
Geordie McDowell, 47, was found dead at his flat at Crossreagh Drive in the Rathcoole estate, Newtownabbey, on Thursday.
Although a post mortem examination has been carried out, police have not revealed how the man died.
On Sunday, police were granted a further 36 hours to question the woman who has been in custody for most of the weekend.
However, detectives are continuing to appeal for information over the incident.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man arrested after woman dies in collision
A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in County Down. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle on the Comber Road in Newtownards at about 9.45pm last night. The victim’s name has not yet been released.

A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Police continue to question man in 1981 murder probe
Police are still questioning a man in connection with the murder of a nine-year-old girl nearly 25 years ago. Jennifer Cardy, from Ballinderry in Co Antrim, was snatched as she cycled to a friend's house in August 1981. Her body was found by a fishermen at McKee's Dam near Hillsborough just six days after her bike was discovered in nearby bushes.

Police continue to question man over Banbridge stabbing
Police are continuing to question a 23-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of Co. Down teenager Christopher Finnegan, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning. 17-year-old Christopher died before reaching a Newry hospital after being stabbed once in the chest at Erinvale Terrace in Banbridge.
