Police Investigate South Belfast Burglaries And Attempted Break-Ins

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a number of reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries in the Ravenhill Road area of south Belfast this week.

According to Detective Sergeant McGearty, the incidents began on Friday, 15 March, when a report was received that a man had opened the door of a car parked at a property in Ravenhill Park and searched inside, before making off with a sum of cash.

More recently, on Wednesday, 19th March, police received further reports. At approximately 1:45 am, a man is said to have approached the rear door of a house in the Ravensdene Crescent area but left when a security light was activated.

Later that morning, just after 2:00 am, a burglary was reported at a house in the Ravenhill Park area. During this incident, a camera, a laptop, and an amount of cash were stolen.

Shortly before 2:10 am on the same day, a man reportedly attempted to enter another house in the Ravenhill Park area but fled the scene after failing to gain entry.

Detective Sergeant McGearty stated, "Detectives are investigating a possible link between these reports and are asking anyone who might have any CCTV footage or other information which could assist us with our enquiries to get in touch."
