Belfast Repair Week Encourages Residents To Mend And Reuse

Belfast residents are being encouraged to embrace the value of repairing and reusing during Belfast Repair Week, running from Monday, March 3rd to Sunday, March 9th.

Belfast City Council, in partnership with ReLondon, is hosting a series of repair workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions across the city, aiming to equip individuals and communities with valuable skills, save money, and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The week-long initiative emphasizes the benefits of repairing items over discarding them, including reducing resource demand, cutting carbon emissions, minimizing landfill waste, and fostering a culture of skill-sharing.

Highlights of Belfast Repair Week include:

• Monday Mendathon (March 3rd): A drop-in event at 2 Royal Avenue where attendees can bring items for repair and learn mending techniques.
