Multi-Agency Emergency Training Exercise To Take Place In Enniskillen
Residents of Enniskillen are advised that a large-scale, multi-agency training exercise involving police and other emergency services will take place on Saturday, 08 March.
The exercise, designed to test the preparedness and collaborative response of various agencies to a major incident, will involve the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and the Northern Ireland Fire Service.
Participants will be asked to respond to a range of simulated scenarios, specifically designed to test command and control systems, interoperability, and cooperative working. Chief Inspector Scott Fallis reassured the public, saying: "On Saturday, the public will notice a large amount of emergency service activity in the Gaol Square area as the training exercise involves the three emergency services responding to simulated scenarios as they would in 'real life'. People should not be alarmed by the increased activity and be reassured that what they are seeing is the blue light services testing and honing both our individual responses to major or critical incidents and, most importantly, making sure that we work together effectively and efficiently to save lives and reduce harm in the event of a large scale emergency."
The exercise aims to refine partnership working, reconcile differing priorities, and perfect effective, joined-up decision-making to ensure the best possible response in any emergency situation.
"We can achieve more when working in partnership than we ever could going it alone and that's why training events like this one are so, so important," Chief Inspector Fallis added. "We will continue to work together to ensure that we have effective multi-agency plans in place so we can respond to any incident wherever it happens."
