Man Charged After Suspicious Items Found In Coleraine
A 40-year-old man has appeared before Coleraine Magistrates Court today, Monday 24 February, to face charges following an incident in the Strand Road area of Coleraine on Thursday, 13 February.
The man has been charged with common assault, false imprisonment, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, domestic abuse offences, and two counts of theft.
According to reports, a homeowner reported the bike and a suspicious bag next to their garage at the bottom of their garden.
Police found that the bag contained cable ties, blue surgical gloves, a mask, an adult toy and condoms.
It is understood that there was no application for bail and the man was remanded in custody to appear again on 24 March, 2025.

Man Charged With Attempted Murder

Police Appeal For Missing Coleraine Man Andrew Smith
Police are appealing for information to trace missing Coleraine man Andrew Smith. Mr Smith, 28, was last seen in the Ballysally area at around midnight. He is believed to have been driving a white Ford Focus. A PSNI spokesperson said: "We are keen to establish Andrew's whereabouts and that he is safe and well. Police can be contacted on 101.

A 25-year-old man has been charged with Grievious Bodily Harm (GBH) following the death of a man in Coleraine. A 56-year-old man was found dead in the Silverthorn Avenue area on Tuesday, 13 November. The suspect has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to copmmit an indictable offence.

76-Year-Old Coleraine Man Jailed For Sexual Assault Of A Child
A 76-year-old Coleraine man has been sentenced to nine years at Laganside Crown Court for three counts of sexual assault of a child. The man, who cannot be named in order to protect the victim's identity, will serve four years in prison and five years on licence.

Man Arrested Over George Gilmore Murder
Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the murder of loyalist George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. A 32-year-old man arrested on Sunday, 19 March, has been released.
