Woman's Body Recovered From Water At Co Down Harbour

A woman's body has been recovered from the water at a harbour in County Down this morning, 19 February.

Emergency services attended the scene at Groomsport Harbour at around 10.35am.

Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Councillor David Chambers urged people to stay away from the scene on social media. He said: "I'm aware of an ongoing incident at Groomsport Harbour.

"Thank you."

Officers remain at the scene.

Part Of M1 Reopens Following Collision
Part of the M1 motorway towards Belfast, which was closed following a four-vehicle collision, has reopened. The crash happened at the Saintfield Road junction on Tuesday morning. Police and the emergency services attended the scene, however no-one is believed to have been injured.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

County Down man remanded after weekend sex attack
A County Down man has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder and rape. 41-year-old Clive Adams from Springwell Gardens, Groomsport, near Bangor, appeared at Newtownards Magistrates Court earlier today believed to be connected to a sexual assault on a woman at the weekend.
