BCC Interactive Theatre Show To Tackle Waste Issues
Belfast City Council is bringing an interactive theatre show to local schools to educate young people about the environmental impact of waste.
Adapted and performed by Cre8 Theatre, 'Terrible Tales of Trash' will visit 30 primary schools across Belfast, reaching approximately 4,000 Key Stage 2 pupils. The show will explore the history of waste, highlighting how it has been a problem throughout history, not just a modern-day issue. Through lively storytelling and historical reenactments, students will learn about how people dealt with waste in different time periods, from cavemen to the World War II era.
"We want to inspire young people to think differently about waste and their responsibility to the environment," said Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Micky Murray. "This creative and interactive show will help children understand the history of waste and encourage them to take action in their own communities."
This initiative is part of the council's commitment to environmental education and aims to empower young people to make sustainable choices and contribute to a cleaner and greener future.
