Traffic Disruption Expected In East Belfast For Irish Cup Match
Road users are advised to plan for potential traffic disruption in east Belfast on Friday, 31st January, due to the Irish Cup sixth-round match between Glentoran and Linfield.
The game will be held at The Bet McLean Oval Stadium, kicking off at 7:45 pm, with an expected attendance of up to 6,000 supporters.
Traffic congestion is anticipated in the areas of Sydenham Road, Dee Street, Lower Newtownards Road, and roads surrounding the stadium both before and after the match. Supporters are advised to plan their journeys in advance. They are also reminded that roadworks are scheduled on the Sydenham Bypass from 10 pm on Friday, 31st January, until 6 am on Monday, 3rd February, which may affect travel plans after the game.
Drivers attending the match are asked to park considerately, respecting local residents and businesses. Supporters are also reminded to be respectful and considerate while walking through residential streets near the stadium.
The areas surrounding the stadium are designated "No Street Drinking" zones under Belfast City Council by-laws, which should be adhered to at all times.
