Giants And Belfast Harbour Renew Partnership For Healthy Lifestyle Programme
The Stena Line Belfast Giants have announced the renewal of their partnership with Belfast Harbour, continuing their joint commitment to promoting health and wellbeing among children and young people through the Healthy Lifestyle Programme.
The programme, established in 2005, focuses on encouraging positive lifestyle choices, emphasising the importance of physical and mental wellbeing, including sufficient sleep, stress management, a balanced diet, and regular exercise.
"The Belfast Giants have always been more than just an ice hockey team," said Laura Small, Relationship and Business Development Manager at The Odyssey Trust. "We are a community-driven organisation dedicated to making a positive impact on people in our local communities. Thanks to Belfast Harbour's ongoing support, we can expand this programme and reach even more young people with vital lessons about healthy living." The renewed partnership will enable the Giants and Belfast Harbour to expand the programme's reach to more primary schools across Greater Belfast, building on the success of previous seasons. Thousands of students have already benefited from the initiative.
"Belfast Harbour is a community-focused port, which is committed to supporting initiatives that benefit local people, so we are really pleased to renew our community outreach partnership with the Belfast Giants," commented Jenni Barkley, Community Engagement Manager at Belfast Harbour. "The expansion of the Healthy Lifestyle Programme to include more primary schools will allow us to reach more pupils across Belfast and encourage them to live healthier lives, both physically and mentally."
There's still time for schools to register for the Healthy Lifestyle Programme, which is open to all primary schools in the Greater Belfast area. For more information or to sign up, please contact schools@belfastgiants.com.
