Ticket Fraud Warning Following Reports Of Oasis And Coldplay Scams
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has issued a warning to the public after receiving reports of ticket fraud from across the region.
Individuals have reported losing significant sums of money after purchasing what they believed were genuine tickets for upcoming Oasis and Coldplay concerts.
"We urge people to be on your guard for this type of fraud," the PSNI said.
The safest way to ensure the authenticity of concert tickets is to purchase them directly from the official ticket seller or an authorised reseller. "We'd also advise against buying tickets from other sources, such as third parties, because you can never be sure of the validity and authenticity of the tickets," the PSNI added.
Individuals who believe they may have been victims of ticket fraud are advised to report the incident to the PSNI by calling 101 or submitting a report online
Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The PSNI is urging concert-goers to exercise caution and prioritise safety when purchasing tickets for live events.
Report ticket fraud to your bank and to Action Fraud on www.actionfraud.police.uk or call police on 101. You can also find out more on our website at www.psni.police.uk/ticket-fraud.
