Man Arrested Following Firearm Incident In Dungannon

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a suspected firearm incident in Dungannon.

The arrest was made by detectives investigating reports of a firearm being pointed at a taxi driver in the Market Square area of Dungannon yesterday morning, Monday 27th January.

The man, arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Curley said: "The police cordon in Market Square has been removed however extensive searches are continuing in the area.

"I am appealing to anyone who may come across any suspicious items, or anything they believe may be a firearm, not touch it but contact police immediately.

"Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses or those with information can get in touch with detectives by calling 101, quoting reference 150 27/01/25."

Man Arrested And Firearm Recovered In L'Derry
A man has been arrested and a suspected firearm recovered by the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) in L'Derry. On Tuesday 21st May, as part of an ongoing operation, officers stopped and searched a vehicle in the Letterkenny Road area of the city at approximately 6.45pm – recovering a suspected firearm and ammunition.

Appeal Over Ballymena Jewellery Robbery
Police have appealed for information following an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Ballymena, County Antrim. Three men, one armed with a suspected firearm, went into the shop on Victoria Street at about 17:00 on Monday evening. The men then threatened members of staff and forced them to lie on the ground.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Man Arrested Following Incident At House In Coleraine
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.
