Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived. It is believed he may have suffered a shoulder injury.

The car involved in the incident is believed to have sustained damage.

Inspector Carey said: "We are keen to speak with the injured man, or any other people who were in the area at the time, and who may have witnessed the incident. You can call police on 101 and quote reference 53 of 21/11/24."

Pedestrian Killed In South Belfast Road Crash
A male pedestrian has died in a serious road traffic collision in south Belfast. The man was hit by a car on the Saintfield Road in the Carryduff area at around 1.45pm on Thursday, 31 August. The Saintfield Road at the junction with the Baronscourt Road was closed for some time, however it has now been reopened.

Man Seriously Injured In Lisburn Collision
A man has been seriously injured after he was hit by a car in Lisburn. It happened on the Prince William Road at around 1pm on Friday. Police said one vehicle was involved in the incident. The pedestrian was taken to hospital and his injuries are described as "serious".

Woman Hit And Killed By Car In Ballycastle
The PSNI have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic incident in Ballycastle, County Antrim. At approximately 5pm on Monday, 13 February, a female pedestrian, aged in her 50s, was hit by a silver Toyota Avensis on the Ramoan Road. The woman was declared dead at the scene.

Deadly Bus Accident In Newry
A 50-year-woman from Co Down died yesterday after being hit by a bus in Newry. The female pedestrian, Bridget Cookson from Jerrettspass, was struck in the afternoon at the bus station in Merchant's Quay. Later, the bus centre was sealed off and passengers had to catch buses in other parts of the city.
