Two Arrested After Dangerous Driving Incident In North Belfast

Two men have been arrested following a dangerous driving incident in north Belfast in the early hours of Monday, November 18th.

The incident began on the Whitewell Road, where a car was observed driving erratically. The vehicle then made its way to the city centre, where it collided with another car on Adelaide Street.

Police officers responded to the incident and arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and dangerous driving. A 55-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and dangerous driving.

Superintendent Finola Dornan urged road users to adhere to the Fatal Five rules to prevent accidents and save lives. She appealed to anyone with information about the incident, particularly those who may have witnessed the blue Skoda driving in the area or have CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact the police.

She also advocates for the implementation of a comprehensive anti-bullying program similar to FUSE in Ireland, which takes a whole-school approach to tackling bullying.

The MLA emphasized the devastating impact bullying can have on young people's mental health and well-being. She pledged to continue working with young people, families, schools, and experts to advocate for stronger anti-bullying measures.
