Police Appeal For Information Following Newry Crime Spree
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a series of six linked thefts, burglaries, and attempted burglaries that occurred over the weekend.
The first incident involved a burglary in the Old Road area of Drumintee, where cash was stolen from an outbuilding. Police believe this crime took place between 4:30pm on Friday, November 8th, and 8:50am on Saturday, November 9th.
Subsequently, reports were received of tools being stolen from two vans in the Ballynamona Road area of Newry. These thefts are believed to have occurred between 10pm on Friday and 8pm on Saturday.
Additionally, police are investigating another report of tools stolen from a garage in the Carrickbroad Road area, which is believed to have happened between 8pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Lewis said: "At this stage, we are treating these reports as linked and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in these areas or who may have information that could help with our enquiries, to get in touch with police on 101, quoting reference number 921 of 09/11/24."
