Traffic Warning Issued Ahead Of Larne Vs St Gallen Match
Police have issued a traffic warning ahead of the Europa Conference League match between Larne and St Gallen on Thursday, 7th November.
The match, which kicks off at 8pm at the National Stadium, is expected to attract over 5,000 supporters.
In addition to match-goers, Boucher Road, a bustling commercial area, will be busy with local residents and visitors.
To accommodate visiting fans, a St Gallen fan parade will take place, departing from Bradbury Place at approximately 5.30pm. The parade will proceed through Shaftesbury Square, Donegall Road, Donegall Avenue, and into the National Stadium. Up to 1,500 St Gallen supporters are expected to participate. To minimise disruption, police advise supporters, commuters, and shoppers to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time. Significant traffic congestion is anticipated in the Shaftesbury Square, Lisburn Road, Donegall Road, M1, and Boucher Road areas both before and after the match.
Motorists are urged to park considerately, avoiding blocking residential streets and businesses. Fans are also asked to be respectful and considerate when walking through residential areas.
It's important to note that the areas surrounding the National Stadium are designated 'No Street Drinking' zones under Belfast City Council by-laws.
Police hope that the match will be enjoyed by all and urge supporters to behave responsibly and uphold the reputation of their clubs.
