Suspected Firearms Seized After Coalisland Shooting

Detectives investigating a shooting incident in the Coalisland area last week have made significant progress in their enquiries.

A man in his 40s attended hospital on Wednesday 30th October with a suspected gunshot wound to his arm. Following this incident, police arrested a 34-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman on Tuesday 5th November. Both individuals remain in custody.

Subsequent searches in the area on Tuesday and Wednesday uncovered a number of suspected firearms and imitation firearms.

Detective Inspector Ryan said: "We would like to thank the community for their patience over the last couple of days.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would continue appeal for anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 1369 of 30/10/24."

Man Extradited From US Over Historical Child Sex Abuse
A 68-year-old man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for a series of indecent assaults on a child in the 1970s. Damien Desmond Anderson, originally from L'Derry, was extradited from the US to face justice. He was convicted of 12 counts of indecent assault against a female who was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.

Police Appeal After Woman Injured In Crash In East Belfast
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a collision between a car and a moped in east Belfast. The crash happened in the Parkgate Avenue area at around 11.25pm on Saturday, 13 May. The woman is being treated in hospital for her injuries.
