West Belfast Man Sentenced For Drug Possession
A west Belfast man has been sentenced to 120 hours of community service at Belfast Crown Court today, Wednesday 6th November.
Raymond Donnelly, 44, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply. The charge stems from a police operation in April 2022, where officers seized cocaine with an estimated street value of £4000 from an address in west Belfast.
Detective Sergeant Cargin said: "A search under warrant uncovered cocaine, deal bags and multiple mobile phones. "Today's sentencing shows that police, remain committed to disrupting the activities of those involved with criminality and drug-related activity.
"Information from the public is crucial in helping us tackle the scourge of drugs and removing those who supply drugs from our streets. Information can be given directly to police by calling 101 or online at www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ . Alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org."

Belfast Hit By 10 Drug-Related Deaths In December
The last month has seen 10 suspected drug-related deaths in the greater Belfast area, sparking concern across the community. PSNI Detective Superintendent Bobby Singleton said while the cause of death is not definitively known, the use of illicit or prescription drugs may have been a factor.

Many Arrests In Gardaí Drugs Raids
A total of 45 people have been arrested in the past 48 hours in Gardaí a crackdown on the sale and supply of heroin and 'crack' cocaine in the Dublin region. The operation, which involved Garda drug units from Kevin Street, Pearse Street and Store Street stations, resulted in 150 charges being brought, according to Gardaí this morning.

Joe Reilly Murder: Man Arrested
A 51-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Joe Reilly. Mr Reilly, 43, was shot at his home in the Glenwood Court area of Poleglass, west Belfast, on 20 October. The suspect was arrested on Monday, 19 December, and has been taken to Musgrave Police station to be questioned.
