Coalisland Shooting Sparks Appeals

A man has been shot in the arm in the Coalisland area of Tyrone, police have said.

Detectives received a report shortly after 7pm yesterday that the man, aged in his 40s, had attended hospital.

The police is particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in The Lines area of the town, from Canal Quay to the car park at the retail premises, between 6pm and 6.40pm.

Detective Inspector Ryan said: "He (the man) was approached by two men who he believed to be local to the area. A suspected firearm was put through the window of his vehicle and he was shot to his arm.

"At this time, the injuries he received are thankfully not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"It's appalling that anyone should be attacked in this way, especially in the early evening when the area would have been busy with shoppers and commuters. There is no place in our society for this type of vigilante justice and we are fortunate that the outcome was not much more serious. 

"Our enquiries are at an early stage and we would appeal for anyone with information in relation to this incident to contact us. 

"If you saw or heard anything suspicious, or have footage which could assist our investigation, please call our detectives can be contacted on 101, quoting reference number 1369 of 30/10/24."

PSNI Appeal For Information About West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.

Man Hospitalised In Belfast Shooting
A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in both legs in North Belfast. The incident in the Antrim Road area took place at around 10.15pm on Wednesday 31 May. Cordons were put in place around the area and police are appealing for anyone with relevant information to contact 101 quoting reference number 2345 of 31/05/23.

'Get Off Our Backs!'- L'Derry Shooting Condemned
The "barbaric" shooting of a man in both legs in L'Derry on Wednesday evening has been condemned in the local community. Police released further details on the paramilitary style attack, which saw a man in his 30's targeted by a group of men in the Galliagh area of the city at around 8pm.

Man Injured In Paramilitary-Style Attack In West Belfast
A 39-year-old man has been injured in a paramilitary-style shooting in west Belfast. The victim was shot in both ankles in the Glenalina Gardens area just after 9.30pm on Tuesday, 30 January. He was taken to hospital to be treated. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
