Man Arrested Following Assault On Pregnant Woman In Belfast

Police in south Belfast have arrested a man in connection with the assault of a pregnant 18-year-old woman in the Ormeau Road area.

The incident occurred on Saturday, October 12th, around 5:30pm near Annadale Embankment. A man threatened the woman, snatched her mobile phone, and then assaulted her. Two other men intervened and stopped the attack. Fortunately, the woman was not injured.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage, and threats to damage property. He remains in police custody.

Officers investigating the incident would ask the two males who intervened or anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and has information which could assist them with their enquiries, to contact them at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1150 12/10/24.
