Musgrave NI Invests £3m In Solar Power Project

Musgrave NI, a leading food convenience retailer and wholesaler, has announced a significant investment of £3 million in a solar power project for its stores across Northern Ireland.

The company, which operates under the SuperValu, Centra, Mace, and Musgrave MarketPlace brands, has begun work on seven SuperValu and Centra stores as well as Musgrave MarketPlace branches in Belfast and Derry-Londonderry. This initiative is part of Musgrave's broader sustainability strategy, 'Growing Sustainably Every Day'.

The solar panels are expected to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions significantly. It is estimated that the nine sites will collectively save a predicted 152 tonnes of CO2 each year.

This initial phase of Musgrave's solar PV rollout is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. The company plans to continue investing in sustainable energy throughout 2025 and beyond, with subsequent phases of the project underway.

This investment demonstrates Musgrave NI's commitment to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to a more sustainable future.
