Police continue to question man over Banbridge stabbing
Police are continuing to question a 23-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of Co. Down teenager Christopher Finnegan, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning.
17-year-old Christopher died before reaching a Newry hospital after being stabbed once in the chest at Erinvale Terrace in Banbridge.
The motive for the killing is as yet unknown, although police believe it may have centred around a domestic dispute.
Forensic teams have searched the area of the incident and have taken several items, including an internal door, away for examination.
Friends of the dead teenager have been visiting the scene to leave flowers at the police cordon.

Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Released On Bail Over College Stabbing Incident
A man, 20, who was arrested in connection with a stabbing at a college in Belfast has been released on bail. Police said the man was released pending further enquiries. A 26-year-old is currently in hospital following the incident at Belfast Metropolitan College on Thursday. His condition is described as serious but stable.

Teenager Arrested After Murder In County Down
Police are treating the death of a man following an assault in County Down over the weekend as murder. The 32-year-old was attacked in Portaferry, shortly after midnight on Sunday. It is believed the victim was from Killyleagh. A 19-year-old has been arrested and taken to Musgrave police station in Belfast for questioning on suspicion of murder.
