NIFRS Seeks Public Input On Community Safety Plan

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) is seeking public input on its Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP). The consultation, launched on 03 October, aims to gather feedback on the organisation's five-year plan to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and partnerships, ultimately ensuring Northern Ireland remains a safe place to live and work.

NIFRS Deputy Chief Fire & Rescue Officer Paul Harper emphasised the importance of public participation in shaping the future of fire and rescue services. "Your feedback is crucial as we outline our plans for fire and rescue provision in Northern Ireland," he stated.

The CRMP details the NIFRS's mission, services, emergency response procedures, and risk prevention strategies. It also outlines how the service intends to enhance community safety and effectively manage risks across the region. By gathering public input, NIFRS hopes to ensure that its resources and personnel are optimally deployed to meet the needs of the community.

Deputy Chief Harper continued: "We are committed to providing the most efficient and effective Fire & Rescue Service for the people of Northern Ireland, whilst ensuring we support the needs of all our employees who go above and beyond every day.

"This consultation will assist us in setting the direction for the next 5 years and help us remain a strong and resilient service; there for you when you need us most.

"It's important that our community is part of the approach. We want to hear your views whether you are a member of the public, an NIFRS employee or one of our partners. Your opinion matters to us and we look forward to engaging with you."

The closing date for the consultation is 9 January 2025. Consultation documentation, summary, FAQs, and consultation response forms are available on Consultations – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service
