It also outlines how the service intends to enhance community safety and effectively manage risks across the region. By gathering public input, NIFRS hopes to ensure that its resources and personnel are optimally deployed to meet the needs of the community.

Deputy Chief Harper continued: "We are committed to providing the most efficient and effective Fire & Rescue Service for the people of Northern Ireland, whilst ensuring we support the needs of all our employees who go above and beyond every day.

"This consultation will assist us in setting the direction for the next 5 years and help us remain a strong and resilient service; there for you when you need us most.

"It's important that our community is part of the approach. We want to hear your views whether you are a member of the public, an NIFRS employee or one of our partners. Your opinion matters to us and we look forward to engaging with you."

The closing date for the consultation is 9 January 2025. Consultation documentation, summary, FAQs, and consultation response forms are available on Consultations – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service
