21-Year-Old Charged With The Murder Of His Mother

A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with the murder of a 43-year-old woman in east Belfast on Friday, 13 September.

The suspect has been named by the PSNI as Nathan Simpson, and he is charged with the murder of his mother, Rachel Simpson, at her home on the Castlereagh Road last Friday.

Police officers discovered Rachel's body in the garage when they went to the home following a 'concern for safety' report.

No details of the time or cause of death have been released.

Nathan Simpson appeared before Belfast Magistrate's Court on Monday, 16 September, where he was charged with her murder. Simpson only spoke to confirm he understood the charge.
