Appeal Following Hate Crime Attack In South Belfast
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following suspected hate crime attack in south Belfast on Monday, 09 September.
Shortly after 11:30pm, it was reported that two windows of a property in the Vernon Street area were smashed by two pieces of masonry. A woman in her 40s and two young children, who were in the property at the time, were not injured but left badly shaken.
Neighbourhood Inspector Róisín Brown said: "This was an unprovoked, violent attack on a young family who have been left afraid to be in their own home. They are fortunate not to have sustained physical injury during the incident. Violence is unacceptable in any community, and I appeal very strongly for anyone who witnessed this incident to speak with us to help us identify those responsible.
"Enquiries are continuing and at this time, the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime.
"Police would appeal to anyone with any information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1788 09/09/24. Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org/."

Police have appealed for information about a serious assault in Londonderry, which resulted in a man receiving 16 stitches to his throat. The 32-year-old man was walking along Westland Street when two men confronted him around 2.30 on Thursday June 13. One pushed him and the other grabbed him from behind and put a knife against his throat.

Just after 6:50pm on Sunday night, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service called on police to attend a scene in the Ridgeway Drive area where a man, aged in his 20s, had been shot.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following an arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards late last night, Thursday 23rd November. Emergency services were called to the scene of a fire just after 11.45pm last night. When they arrived fire fighters found a house and vehicle on fire.
