Man Struck By Van In Belfast City Centre

A man is being treated in hospital after being struct by a van in Belfast City Centre on Monday, 02 September.

The collision occurred at the Millfield junction in the city centre at approximately 5.40pm.

Sergeant Millar said: "Officers along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

"I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or to anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1337 of 02/09/24."

Primark Donates £500,000 To Support Businesses Affected By Fire
Retailer Primark is donating £500,000 to Belfast City Council's City Recovery Investment Fund. The fund is being set up after a number of businesses have been severely affected by the fire at the Bank Buildings which happened over three weeks ago. A cordon remains in place and 14 firms have been closed for up to four months.

It follows a protest outside Belfast City Hall last week by the St Patrick's Carnival Committee who claim the Council isn't funding this year's event at the City Hall.

Police are appealing for help in the search for missing man Robert Darling. The PSNI branch in Belfast City Centre is leading the search for the 40-year-old. Robert is around 5ft 8" tall and of medium build. Anyone who sees him or knows where he is has been asked to contact PSNI on 101 - the incident number you need is 874 21/11.
