Renewed Appeal On East Belfast Assault On 11 July
Police have renewed an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault of a man, aged in his 60s, on the morning of Thursday, 11 July, near Clarawood Estate.
It was reported that at around 11am, the man was walking his dog in an area known locally as 'Marsh Wiggle' when he was assaulted by an unknown male. This male was described as having grey hair, was of slim build, approximately 5'10" tall and possibly aged in his early fifties. He was wearing grey clothing and was accompanied by a teenage male and had two XL Bully type dogs with him when he is alleged to have assaulted the victim. The injured man sustained serious facial injuries and required hospital treatment following the attack.
Anyone with any information about this incident or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call police at Strandtown on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 638 11/07/24. Police are investigating a spate of vandalism incidents that occurred in the Bangor area on Sunday, 3rd November. In the early hours of the morning, a business premises in the Balloo Avenue area was targeted. The suspects smashed two window panes, causing significant damage estimated to be in the thousands of pounds.

Sentences Imposed For Separate Belfast Dog Attacks
Two individuals were sentenced at Belfast Magistrates Court yesterday for separate dog attacks which injured either a person or animal. Mark McLaughlin of Prospect Park, Belfast, was convicted following an incident on March 29, 2024 in which his Collie-Husky cross attacked and injured a 3 year-old boy on the face and forehead at Prospect Park.
